Working under William Dangar, of Dangar Barin Smith and Robert Plumb, Michael has been at the forefront of the construction of some of Australias most presitgious residential landscapes.
Michael grew up in South Africa and spent most weekends and holidays on his family farm and isolated coastal bush property. It was the immersive, no electricity experience at the bush property and the productive farm experience where awe of the natural environment first took hold.
Moving to Sydney after university, he started working in residential landscapes. It was there where he saw the potential to create outdoor spaces that engage people and draw them outdoors.
His ambition is to design gardens that create emotional moments. Be that, sensory corners that draw in wildlife to tranquil corners where quiet reflection away from the ‘rat race’ becomes daily ritual.
